These are the new rules for the trails that just went into effect.


ATV TRAIL REGULATIONS: Harlan Co. Trails

1. ATV's, UTV's, & Motorcycles Only.

2. All vehicles must have functioning brakes, muffler, and a USDA Forest Service approved spark arrestor.

3. Loading & unloading of vehicles permitted only in the parking area.

4. Speed limit in the parking area is 5 mph.

5. DOT approved helmets required for all riders & passengers on vehicles without roll over protection (ROPS).

6. One rider per vehicle unless otherwise designed for multiple riders by the manufacturer.

7. Riding out of bounds, on maintained roadways/right-of-ways, in streams and other unauthorized areas is prohibited.

8. No alcoholic beverages in the riding area.

9. Operation of vehicles while under the influence of drugs or alcohol is prohibited.

10. No overnight parking or camping.

11. The riding area & parking lot area is closed at dusk.

12. ATV area is subject to closure during wet conditions or special events.

13. Rider supervision is required for those under 16 years of age.
